Filipe Serralheiro veered into photography thanks to his background as a graphic designer.

His academic and professional background imbued him with a tendency to recreate a mix of mediums through photography.

Most evident is the aethstetic influence of cinema on the way he uses
​tones, colour and grain and also his experience with graphic design, which instilled in him an subconscious sense of framing and layout, as well as strength in the invisible lines that populate the framing of his photography.
