The other day I went to an exhibition opening of a friend and great artist David Rosado, who inaugurated his recent exposition in Galeria Arte Periférica, in CCB, Lisbon. His work is vastly influenced by the cinema culture, often we can find allegories from the film industry mixed and invaded by cartoon figures and/or animals, creating this way a complex mosaic in each canvas that tells its own story, independent from each of the individual elements that compose them.

I loved this last exhibition, as it offered a duality between a dark mood, inspired in cult cinema scenes, portrayed in greyish and dark tones, and nature and/or cartoon elements that surprisingly inflict a dichotomy between fear and playfulness.

Make Up Forever’s professional make up courses continue to be a big success in Portugal, thanks to its representative Expansão York, with classes both in Lisbon and Oporto.

This time i present you with the great work from Ana Soares, one of the students that finished her course last month. Here are some shots i took.

For this photos i used three Profoto Pro Heads attached to 2 Profoto Pro-B3 Air blocks. 2 of the heads, with regular Zoom reflectors were used for the background and the other head was used as keylight with a white Beauty Dish.

On each side of the model i had a white reflector board and, from beneath, a Photoflex Silver reflector disc.

As usual i used my good old Canon EOS 7D with a 24-70 L f/2.8

Good news!

After being featured by Profoto and in the italian Vogue website the fashion editorial "Show me the night", shot for BLESS magazine was once again awarded with a new feature in an international fashion website, based in New York.

This time it was  fashionserved that presented us with a feature on their website.

I can only say i'm very proud and congratulate the whole team!

At the end of last month i shot the first of several make up shoots in collaboration with the international brand Make Up Forever.


I headed to one of their portuguese offices in Oporto and photographed the work of one of their students, Márcia Almeida. Using a two Profoto heads attached to a Profoto Pro-7s. One with a white beauty dish, in front of the model, and another one just to light the background, as i wanted a nice clean white background.

A new editorial i shot for BLESS magazine just got out. Named "Lady of the manor" it depicts a young woman living in a house full of wonders and random nonsense.

 It was shot in an old house, fully decorated in a vintage style, in the typical neighborhood of Graça, in Lisbon. We wanted to give a vintage meets fashion meets Alice in wonderland feel to it and also disrupt the "innocent little girl" look commonly used in that kind of imaginary, so we introduced Gabriela, a model using her hair shaved, some tattoos and a piercing on her nose.

All the editorial was shot with one Profoto head with a 5 foot octa attached to a Profoto Pro7-s to obtain a soft light on the model.

Last week Carolina Sanches, soon to be mother, posed for my camera for a series of great portraits to keep memories from her pregnancy.

We wanted to avoid the same old kind of photos pregants use to get, so i proposed to do a series of photographes like in a fashion editorial. In a different and fun way.

It was her first experience in a real studio, and the hours were long but, despite her 8 months pregnancy, she was very strong, cheerfull and the camera loved her.

The photographic coverage of the portuguese national general strike got featured in the online newspaper "Diário Liberdade"

Furthermore i can now proudly announce i'll be a correspondent for "Diário Liberdade" from now on, collaborating with photographic reports on the events of our society.
